Topical is an AI-powered platform designed to help you create and automate engaging newsletters with minimal effort. By building reusable templates with customizable content blocks—such as news articles, blog posts, event listings, job opportunities, and more—Topical makes it easy to deliver highly relevant newsletters tailored to your audience on a regular schedule.

Human In The Loop

Topical streamlines content discovery using AI, but the best newsletters always have a human touch. Before distribution, every issue goes through your personal review to ensure quality and authenticity. During this review, you have multiple options to refine your newsletter:

  • AI-Assisted Editing: Simply reply to the review email with your instructions, and the AI agent will carry out edits for you.
  • Manual Editing: Log into the visual email builder in Topical’s interface to directly tweak the content.
  • Complete Rewriting: Rewrite any section entirely to reflect your unique voice.

The AI can specifically help you:

  • Add or remove articles and sections
  • Reorder content items
  • Rephrase or rewrite text
  • Adjust the tone and writing style

Defining Your Audience

Clearly defining your target audience ensures that the AI selects highly relevant content and generates text matching your readers' interests. A precise audience description improves content relevance and reader engagement.

Examples of effective audience descriptions:

  • "Young tech professionals interested in achieving financial independence and early retirement through smart investing."
  • "Startup founders and entrepreneurs focusing on healthcare innovations powered by AI and machine learning."
  • "Marketing professionals looking to stay ahead in digital marketing trends, tools, and strategies."

Avoid broad or vague descriptions, such as "People interested in finance."

Distributing Your Newsletter

Once your newsletter content is finalized, Topical requires integration with an email service to distribute your newsletter. Currently supported integrations are:

  • Mailchimp
  • Brevo (formerly SendInBlue)
  • Beehiiv (coming soon)

To distribute your finalized newsletter:

  • Click Distribute within the visual editor.
  • Alternatively, reply to the review email with a command such as "Send to Mailchimp" or "Distribute this email," and the AI will handle the rest.

Configuring Your Workflow

Topical includes a powerful no-code Workflow Builder allowing detailed control over content sourcing and filtering processes. You can create workflows quickly through the chat-based AI agent, or visually using the Workflow Editor interface.
